Catharine was the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Bolinger) Traxler. Her sister
Jane (Traxler) Magee (1820-1901) was married to Finley's brother James Magee. Another sister, Sarah b. 1806 married Richard Brown and lived near Maddensville. A brother, William Traxler (1822-1899) lived in Newton Hamilton.
