Sandra was a homemaker, bookkeeper, grocery store owner, travel agency owner, and a group travel host.
Sandra's corner of the world consisted of the most memorable holiday gatherings with her family, travel, music, gardens, and camping at the ocean. In more recent years she and her husband, Bill enjoyed their long awaited road trips in the USA and Canada by way of a small RV.
Sandra was a long time member of and sang in the choir at the Gustine Community Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of both the Newman and Modesto Garden Clubs.
Wherever she was, she always had a twinkle in her eye, a smile, a song or a whistle, and a kind word. She made her house a home and was loved and enjoyed by all who met her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ivy and Ilene Bridgford and sister, Judy Balentine (Bob).
Sandra will be deeply missed by her husband of sixty-one years, William Hensley; her three daughters, Candy Monarrez (Nestor), Melody Maffei (Robert) and Tara Gerhart (Michael); and her grandchildren, Matthew Monarrez (Emily), Nicholas (Amanda), Andrew and Alexandra Maffei, and Cooper Gerhart. She is also survived by her sister, Ivy Jean Laffoon (Paul); and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, March 2nd at the Orestimba Presbyterian Church in Newman.
Interment to follow at the San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella at 1:00 pm.
Services conducted by Hillview Funeral Chapel, Gustine.
