She was born on February 8, 1922 to the late William Fife Womack (1892-1965) of North Carolina and Sarah Craig Womack (1899-1994).
Paternal Grandparents: Henry Basil Womack (1857–1933) and Fannie G. Coon (1857-1951) of North Carolina.
Mrs. Self was preceded in death by his parents, her husband Richard Cannon Self (1921-1992) and her sister Betty Self.
She is survived by her children: Yancey Self DelRio, Richard "Rick" Cannon Self, Jr. (Kathy) and Pamela Self Gordon (John), her brother William Fife, Jr. and by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Elmwood Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
