Alethea R. Seiler, 97, of Hampshire, formerly of Huntley passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Sherman Court West in Elgin.
She was born May 7, 1920 in Marengo the daughter of Alonzo and Lily (Meyer) Wirsing. On August 14, 1939 she married William Seiler in Huntley.
Mrs. Seiler was a 1938 graduate of Marengo High School and a graduate from Ellis Business College. Alethea and Bill owned and operated B&B Service in Huntley from 1941-1976. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntley, a member of Royal Neighbors, DAR, & May Babies. Alethea loved music & sang while she worked. She was devoted to her family, children, grands, and her nieces & nephews.
Surviving are her sons, Richard (Holly), Donald (Kathleen); daughters, Linda (Gordon) Gray, and Mary Diekman; grandchildren, Cynthia (Paul) Piotrowski, Michael (Ashley) Seiler, Regina (Jeffrey) Gordon, Christopher Seiler, Matthew (Thelma) Seiler, Todd (Vicki) Gray, Chad (Chrissy) Gray, Rachel (Jake) Simpson, and Travis (Michele) Diekman; 19 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 69 years, William on Nov. 13, 2008; sister, Phyllis Eickstedt; and brothers, LeRoy Wirsing, and James "Pat" Wirsing.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 at St Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road in Huntley. Visitation will be on Wed., Feb. 21 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St. in Huntley and will continue on Thursday at the church prior to mass from 9:00 to 10:00am.
