Herbert Frank Parker, 71, of Phenix City, AL, passed away on Monday evening at UAB Hospital, in Birmingham, AL.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm EST, on Friday, October 27, 2017, at Vance Memorial Chapel with Reverend Ricky Ward officiating. Interment will be held at Lakeview Memory Gardens and the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Mr. Parker was born in Columbus, GA, the son of the late J.W. Parker and Edna Franklin Parker. He was with the Phenix City Fire Department for 10 years before working in Law Enforcement for 47 years including the DA’s office and the Russell County Sheriff’s office.

Other that his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Francis Cole.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Harry Parker; daughter, Kimberly Dawn Oakes, husband Jason; step daughter, Claire Van Horn; step son, David Frederick Van Horn, wife Cayce; sister, Shirley Faye Skinner, husband Richard; grandchildren, Josh Walker wife, Michelle, Zach Walker, Trent Oakes, wife Ashlee, Kaytlin Oakes, Ryan Allred, Eric Allred, Patrick Allred, Patton Van Horn, Bastian Van Horn and Emily Nelson; great grandchildren, Brodie Oakes, Bailey Walker, Easton Walker and Lily Allred; several nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.
