Mrs. Layne died March 31, 2007, in Tyler.
She was born Jan. 31, 1924, in Dennison to the late Alvis and Elsie Gaddie Grant, and lived most of her life in Tyler. She was a homemaker and member of Patton Lane Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James Layne, four sisters and one daughter-in-law.
Survivors include sons, Lonnie Layne and Mike Layne, both of Lindale, Dale Layne, Austin, and David Layne, Tyler; brother, Al Grant, Fort Worth; sisters, Susie Sweet, Savoy; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; nieces and nephews.
Sons and two grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
