Al was born Dec. 30, 1921, to Alvris and Elsie Gaddie Grant in Whitesboro. Al, called "Brother" by all of his seven sisters and their families, loved to get together and play dominoes and 42, which he played to his last days. He was married to the love of his life, Marie Tidwell Grant, for 72 years and seven months. Al was in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he served in the South Pacific in general headquarters.
Al owned and operated Al Grant Motors in Fort Worth until he retired. In 1985 he was named Used Car Dealer of the Year. He loved attending Legacy Church of Christ where he had been a member since 1956. He specially enjoyed all the love, hugs and attention shown to him from his church family.
Marie and the family wish to thank Lion Hospice for taking such good and loving care of Al, especially Margaret, Rhonda, Sandy and Angela.
His parents and all his sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors: Loving wife, Marie; son, Tim and Kathy Grant; daughters, Shirley and Jim Farrell of Hurst, Sandi and Deryle Matthews of Marysville, Wash., and Pamela and Mike Rash of Benbrook; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
