Corie married her beloved husband, Lyle Holmes, on December 4, 1941 at St. Elizabeths Hospital. They were married for 69 years and raised three children. Much of their married life was spent farming on the Rosa when a job change meant a move to Grandview. Wherever they lived, Corie would raise beautiful gardens, especially roses and iris. She was an excellent seamstress making her own wedding dress to beautiful clothes for herself and daughters. Her cinnamon rolls were to die for. She loved anything chocolate, the Oregon Coast, the Bible, but most of all she loved Jesus.
Corie was preceded in death by her husband Lyle Holmes, her parents Case and Leentja Kwak, her brother Peiter Kwak and 1 grandson, Aric Sieveke.
Corie is survived by her daughters: Linda (Wayne) Sieveke, DeAnna Holmes Shields; son J.T. Holmes; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Riverview Manor for their excellent care and great love for our mother. We are very grateful for the love and attention given by Greg Swart, of Best Practices Medical Center.
Private graveside services are planned. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Westside Church, 6901 Summitview Ave., Yakima Wash.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Cories name to Flying H Ranch, in care of Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 W. Yakima Ave., Yakima, WA 98902.
