Helen lived her entire life in the state of Washington and the past 50 years of it in Yakima. She taught school in Toppenish, Enumclaw, Pomeroy and Yakima. She enjoyed teaching children how to read and was an avid reader herself. She loved her family and was encouraging to her children and grandchildren in their sports, school activities, hobbies, education and work. During retirement, she enjoyed camping and fishing at Lake Roosevelt with family and friends, traveling around the US and going to Palm Springs for the winter in their RV. She had an affection for ice cream, reading the comics, eagles, feeding her backyard birds, playing cribbage and pinochle, the Seahawks, Mariner spring training trips and going for walks. She was active in her faith life by knitting prayer shawls, teaching Sunday school, reading her Bible, praying for people and worshiping. She loved the Lord and shined his light through love and hope. Helen had a kind and generous heart and a very warm and welcoming way about her.
Helen is survived by her husband of 63 years John "Larry" Patrick, daughter Connie (David) Warner and sons Bill Patrick and Gary (Toni) Patrick. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Katie, Kyle, Ally, Shaun, Brenna, Cassandra, Kimberly, Casey, Chelsea and Chris, plus 12 great-grandchildren: Makenna, Myles, Carter, Hadley, Weston Jr., Zachary, Kolby, Chloe, Boston, Max, James and William.
