Robert was my father's grandfather. He and his wife Mary ran a wheat farm bordering the Clyde train stop in Northern Walla Walla County. He came by rail from Tennessee to check things out in 1880 with his 14 year old son Oliver. The 1880 US census showed them in both places. The entire family came out the next year, including the 8 children; William, Laura, Mary Ann, Oliver, Robt Jr., Samuel, my grandfather Harvey, and John.
