In 1894, Mr. Carr went to Hunter, N.D. where he entered the employ of Gale, Duffaney Mercantile Company. Following his marriage to Mabel D. Pendergast at Sauk Centre on October 24, 1890, they went to Hunter and made their home for a short time. They then moved to Blanchard, N.D. where Mr. Carr managed one of the Dale Duffaney company's general stores. Upon the death of Mr. Duffaney, Mr. Carr was made a member of the firm and the name was changed to Gale, Carr Mercentile Co.
Mr. Carr preceded her husband in death in 1938. Surviving are three daughters and one son: Cornelia Moen, Glendale, CA; Beatrice Sayer, Hunter, ND; R. Merland Carr, Hunter, ND; Martha H. Cohn, Sacramento, CA. Other surviving relatives include one sister, Clara J. Moore, of Carrington, ND; and two brothers, Robert F. Carr, of Pinehurst, Washington and Irving E. Carr, of Bowman, ND.
