The Evening Journal, Lisbon OH, Friday 31 May 1929, front page - PNEUMONIA FATAL TO ROY ALDRIDGE --- The announcement of the death of HENRY LEROY ALDRIDGE, which occurred at his home, 231 East High Street, at 10 o'clock Thursday night, following a short illness with double pneumonia, came as a shock to Lisbon and vicinity. He was stricken ill last Monday while at his work at the plant of R. Thomas & Sons Co. with what was thought to be pleurisy and later pneumonia developed. From that time he was seriously ill and apprehension was felt for his recovery. He had all of his life lived in Lisbon and vicinity, and no resident was more highly thought of by the entire community. For the past 26 years he has been employed at the plant of the R. Thomas & Sons Co., and for some years as receiving clerk. Deceased nearly all of his life has been prominently identified with the Christian Church, and for the past fifteen years had served the Sunday school as its superintendent. Surviving in the home is the widow and one daughter, MISS THELMA ALDRIDGE. Deceased is also survived by four sisters, MRS. IDA SWANEY and MRS. CHARLES CARLISLE of Lisbon, and MRS. FRANK DUNCAN and MISS MARGARET ALDRIDGE, of Cleveland. The funeral will take place on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Christian Church with the Rev. F. C. Lake, the pastor, in charge of the service. Burial will be made in the Lisbon Cemetery.
