Joyce was born on October 29, 1926 in Wisconsin Rapids to Rexford and Irma (Wells) Fluno. She graduated from Lincoln High School. Joyce was an active life-long member of the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church. She married Kenneth Fritz on May 9, 1945 in Tucson, AZ and they were blessed with 63 years of marriage, until his death on July 10, 2008.

She worked as a nursing assistant at Riverview Hospital for many years. After her retirement, Joyce continued her commitment to her fellow man, by volunteering at Riverview. She loved to knit mittens and sweaters, often surprising family and friends with these special treasures. Joyce was a Packer Backer and followed Wisconsin Badgers football, especially being entertained by the marching band. Joyce and Ken enjoyed going on several cruises with their special friends, Herb and Anita Hager. Her love of Christ was continually reinforced at her weekly Bible study group, hosted by her sister-in-Christ, Jean Covey. Joyce loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a “cool” grandma who is loved and will be deeply missed.

Joyce is survived by her children: Michael (Ursula) Fritz, David (Rose) Fritz, Kristi (David) Glodoski, and Tammie (Michael) Schultheis; grandchildren: Andrea (Eric) Kraus, Damien (Cansu) Fritz, Kaitlin (Michael) Braun, Zachery Fritz, Joshua (Melissa) Glodoski, Matthew Glodoski, Sara Schultheis, and Nicholas Schultheis; great-grandchildren: Ellie Glodoski, Karlie Glodoski, Keelie Glodoski, Mason Glodoski, Jackson Glodoski, Adaline Fritz, and Aubree Fritz; siblings: Joan Maier, Jack (Patricia) Fluno, and Jere (Anne) Fluno; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Rexford Fluno; sister, Jacqueline Fluno; sister-in-law, Helen Fluno; and brother-in-law, Walter Maier.

Memorials may be given to the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church.
