Son of Benjamin Ward and Abigail Wood of Hillsborough, NH.
Left New Hampshire with his wife and farmed in Eureka, Dakota Co., Minnesota mid 1800s.

Served in Civil War with Company I, 4th Minnesota Infantry Regiment. Participated in the siege of Vicksburg, summer of 1863. He was honorably discharged 12 June 1864, with distinguished service, at the age of 53.

Died in Northfield, Rice County, Minnesota in 1890.

Harvey Ward owns 70 acres improved land, 50 acres other land, claim value is $3000, farm implements valued at $100, $200 total wages paid during year.
Owns two horses, one milk cow, two other cattle; all livestock valued at $350. Crops: 500 bushels spring wheat, 160 bushels Indian corn, 700 bushels corn.
