George "Wilbur" Pitts, 99 of Ruther Glen passed peacefully at his home, Fri. Feb. 9, 2018. Born in Caroline, he was the son of the late Gladys Bruce and Leslie Pitts. He was a U. S. Navy veteran during World War II, had owned and operated Pitts Auto Parts in Bowling Green for 18 years and was known as the "Veggie Man" at Rite Aid shopping center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Pitts. Survivors include his two children, Carole Pitts and Todd Pitts; eight grandchildren, Brittany Johnson, Ashley Alden Pitts, Kristy Seal, Troy Thomas, Ashley Middlebrook, Cody Pitts, Dylan Pitts and Emma Pitts; six great-grandchildren, Devin Dunnington, Chase Seal, Hunter, Holden and Tori Thomas and Landon Middlebrook; his former wife of 27 years, Edith Garnett Pitts; and a sister. He was preceded in death by his children, Toni Lynn and Ronnie Pitts and a brother, Marvin Pitts.
