Wife of Mr. Thomas Mackey
An estimable lady of the Zion section, Mrs. Rebecca Mackey, wife of Mr. Thomas Mackey,died Monday night, after a lingering illness. The burial was at New Hope church yesterday.
Mrs. Mackey's maiden name was Bailey. She was a daughter of the late Landy Bailey and was about 50 years of age. Besides the husband, she leaves six children, Messrs. William, Thomas, Edward, Palmar Mackey, Mrs. Otis Knight and Miss Sallie Mackey. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Messrs. W.J. and Mack Bailey, of this county; Mr. J.T. Bailey of Georgia; Mrs. W.B. Blackmon and Mrs. D.N. Crenshaw, also of this county.
Mrs. Mackey also leaves a large circle of friends and acquaintances to lament her untimely death. She was a consistent member of the Baptist Church, was of pleasant and amiable disposition and was liked by all who knew her.
