Mildred Ann "Millie" Brooksbank, age 94, of Pekin, passed away Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 at 3:48 p.m. at Pekin Manor in Pekin.
She was born Oct. 5, 1923 in Mulberry, KS to Charles and Mary (Chandler) Bury. She married Richard "Dick" Brooksbank in 1992 in Peoria. He passed away Aug. 10, 2013 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers: Charles, Carl, and Frank Bury, Sr.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
Millie worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for over 40 years retiring in 1983. Her memberships include, CEFCU Board for 26 years, the Youth Services Board, a Precinct Committeeman in Tazewell County, and a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in East Peoria.
She was very active in Republican politics. She was proud that she was invited and attended Richard Nixon's presidential inauguration.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Rev. Kurt Mews will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Burial will follow the funeral services at 1:30 p.m. at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens, IL.
Memorials may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church in East Peoria.
