Mrs. Sandra Kay Gerald, 69, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana formerly of Galesburg, Illinois died at 8:42 pm. Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in Ochsner Medical Center, Baton Rouge.

She was born September 14, 1948 in Galesburg, the daughter of Robin R. and Jeannette J. Pedigo Harshbarger, Sr. She married Mike Jones and later married Bill Gerald.

Sandra is survived by her mother, Jeannette Harshbarger in Galesburg; her children, Alan (Monica) Jones of Hessmer, Louisiana, Tracy Perkins of Port Allen, Louisiana, Jody (Ricky) Bardwell of Charleston, South Carolina, Patrick (and Michelle) Jones of Port Allen, Eric (Muriel) Galloway of Covington, Louisiana and Robin Gerald of Baton Rouge; one brother, Robin (Sue) Harshbarger, Jr. of Delong, Illinois; two sisters, Judy (Cecil) Mesecher of Gilson, Illinois and Joan (Rick) Wiley) of Cameron, Illinois; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father and her brother, Danny Harshbarger.

Sandra had worked for State Farm Insurance Company and had ran a catering business in Louisiana. She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1966. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Sandra enjoyed making crafts and sewing. She had a passion for cooking, especially Cajun food. She loved flowers outside in her flower bed or in vase in her home.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:30 pm Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg, with Rev. James Ecklund officiating. Visitation will be from Noon-1:00 pm at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
