One of the 48 graves moved from the Hunter Cemetery to the Benbrook Cemetery in 1949 in preparation for the construction of Benbrook Lake. Many of those graves were babies and children, and many unknown or dates & ages unknown. The Hunter Cemetery was one of five cemeteries moved. It was located approximately one mile south from the Clear Fork of the Trinity River, situated adjacent to a graveled country road. It was in the area of Mustang Point's sandy swim beach at Benbrook Lake. This information was abstracted from the Corp of Engineers 1949 report titled CEMETERY RELOCATION PLAN, BENBROOK DAM & RESERVOIR and TEXAS CEMETERIES: TARRANT COUNTY, Vol. 11, pages 33-35, by the DAR (available at the downtown Fort Worth Library). The other four cemeteries moved were Day (3 graves), Mustang (6 graves), January (4 graves), and Muhlinghause (4 graves) Cemeteries. Corps of Engineers map file number BNK-225/CR-8, September 1949.
