Carl Long, 84, of Redding passed away at his home on January 4, 2018.
He is preceded in death by his wife Carol Voiles, daughter Jennifer A. and her husband (Donald Altman), parents Charles Haskell and Verna T. Sullivan and his brother William (Dink).
He is survived by sisters Bobbinell (Bobbi) & Charlena (Von). He has 3 surviving children Ernest (Linda), Melanie (Jim) and Andrew (Jasmine). He has 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Born in Texas, graduating high school in California he joined the Army. After serving in Germany for two years he returned home to marry his true love Carol. Carl joined the sheet metal trade and was a 60 year member at the time of his passing. Settling in Petaluma, Ca. they began raising their children.
Later moving to Redding where they settled into the community. After retiring from the sheet metal trade, Carl started his own business, "Two Long Lawn Service". Carl was a truly likeable person and made many friends throughout his life. He loved family, bowling, fishing and the great outdoors. He will be truly missed.
Services will be held at Northern California Veterans Cemetery on February 12th at 2 P.M. Celebration of life will be held at his home following the service.
