Obituary for Dale Davis
Dale Davis was born on May 21, 1927 in Stuart, OK. He was the son of Arthur E. and Opal Davis. Dale served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946. In 1949, he married the love of his life, Naomi Sartor, in Stuart, OK. Dale was a 1954 graduate of OSU. He and Naomi moved to El Reno, OK in 1958. Dale retired from the El Reno Reformatory in 1979.
Dale was an ordained deacon and a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church. He had a special gift of ministry to those in need. Dale enjoyed fishing and camping with his family. He was an accomplished guitarist who loved to play and teach others. In their earlier years, Dale and Naomi enjoyed playing and singing music wherever a crowd was gathered. Riding his lawnmower was a favorite activity. Dale loved his family dearly and thought his wife was the most beautiful person in the world. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Jones Hernandez; and brother, Douglas Davis and wife Tubby. Survivors include his wife of the home; children, Jim Davis and wife Loy of OKC, Jerry Davis and wife Elaine of Edmond, Shouna Olson and husband Gary of Edmond, and Karen Carter and husband Rocky of El Reno; grandchildren, Carla Jones and husband Rev. Doug Jones, Matt Davis and wife Julianne, Daryl Davis and wife Micah, Wynter Casallas and husband William, Chase Olson and wife Kathryn, Preston Olson, Ryan Carter and wife Brianne, Camilla Sewell and husband David, and Ross Carter and wife Cherity; great grandchildren, Andrew, Ella, and Brooke Jones, Bree, Tate, and Crew Davis, Boston and Chloe Davis, Grace Olson, Tripp and Crosslyn Carter, Cal and Stella Sewell, Drew, Cori, Ryan, and Khi Carter; brothers, Ronal Davis and wife Shirley of McAlister and Glenn Davis and wife Jerry of Dow; and a large extended family and many friends.
A service will be held on Tuesday, February 13th at 1:00 pm at Bohannon Church in Stuart, OK. Dale will be buried at the Bohannon Cemetery, alongside his parents, grandparents, and other friends and relatives. Rev. Douglas Jones and Rev. James Crowson will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wings Special Needs Community, 13700 N. Eastern Ave., Edmond, OK 73013 or wingsok.org. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home, El Reno, OK.
