Elizabeth met and married her husband Franklin Aldridge in Indiana. In the spring of 1853, with three young daughters they joined a wagon train headed for California. There were 200 wagons pulled by oxen, 40 men on horseback and 2 scouts. Her husband Franklin was one of the scouts. They settled in the Sacramento valley in California where they had six daughters and one son. Elizabeth died in December 1862. In November of 1865 Franklin moved his family to Watsonville and then to Corralitos where he re-married his second wife Sarah Jane Bradley.
