Funeral services for Mr. Don E. Neal, age 78, will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 9, 2018, at the New Sarepta Baptist Church, Sarepta, LA, with Rev. Marty Wright and Rev. J. D. Simpson officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 pm in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Downsville, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 8, 2018, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Neal was born on February 12, 1939 to W. E.and Eunice Fitzgerald Neal in Junction City, LA and passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in Springhill. He was a member of New Sarepta Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked for International Paper for many years and retired from Georgia Pacific. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing dominoes.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Wilson Neal; daughter, Donna Neal Tanner and husband, Dr. Bill Tanner of Ruston, LA; son, David Neal and wife, Ashley of Sarepta; four grandchildren, Holly Holder and husband, Daniel, Heather Tanner, Adam Neal, Anna Neal; two great-grandchildren, Layla Holder, Lilly Holder; two special nephews, Charles Neal and wife, Vickie of Sarepta, Billy Neal and wife, Misty of Mineola, TX; sister, Mildred Allen of Ruston, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Neal was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Dedra Neal.
Pallbearers will be Adam Neal, Charles Neal, Billy Neal, Brandon Neal, Mike Andrews, and Tracy Copeland.
