John Duane Freelove was born in Central New York State, the 4th child, 2nd son of Lewis Paul Freelove, and Ellen Jean (Sullivan) Freelove. John was the 4th of 9 children.
His childhood Nickname was "Butchie".
Around 1955, his family moved from Central New York to Orlando, Florida, following a previous move to Orlando by his Paternal Aunt Mary Freelove. At that time the family consisted of 5 children. His siblings at that time were Marie Frances, Nancy, Paul, and Don (in order by birth). Subsequently, additional siblings were born in Orlando: James "Jimmy", Faye, Kevin, and William "Billy".
As an Adult, John returned to New York, and married Vicky L. Bothwell. They had at least 3 children, in New York.
In later years, John and Vicky moved to Arizona, and subsequently to Virginia (by, or before 2017).
On Jan. 12, 2018, John's mother Ellen Jean (Sullivan) Freelove passed away at a hospice facility in Orlando, FL. For a number of years prior, she and her husband Louis (d. Sept. 2015 before their 71st Wedding Anniversary) resided with their daughter Faye & Faye's husband Bill Siewert, Sr. at their home in Orlando.
John and Vicky drove down from Virginia to Orlando, FL to attend his mother's funeral, which was on Jan. 23, 2018. John and Vicky were guests of Faye & Bill. John had been ill for some time, yet very much wanted to attend his mother's funeral, so the trip from Virginia was not without risk, but such was the Love of John for his mother that he was willing to take the risk.
John passed away at about 12:15 am at the home of his sister Faye on the morning of his mother's funeral - Jan. 23 2018.
John was predeceased by his parents Lewis Paul & Ellen Jean (Sullivan) Freelove, his sister Marie Frances (Freelove) Zwosta, and multiple aunts & uncles. John is survived by his wife Vicky (Bothwell), their children & grandchildren, his siblings Nancy, Paul, Don, James, Faye, Kevin & William, his Paternal Uncles Grant and Richard Sullivan, 13 Paternal 1st cousins & spouses, and a great many nieces/nephews and cousins.
