Having many animals through my life, I decided after having to put my last to sleep due to Feline AIDS it was just too painful to have another animal. Sammy had been a 20 year old loved member of our family, one of many, but this hit hard. However, going years and having no animals was also empty, and would often take care of neighbors pets to fill the void. Then I met and married my wife and was surprised after a few years that she never had a kitten or a puppy of her own. How could that be possible? We heard some people close by that had a litter and went to see what was possible when they were old enough.

Initially I had my eyes on a black and white cat, which reminded me of my neighbor's cat had just died, and who had been like my own, but upon our first visit immediately another cat came to us and it was like this is the one, and I knew that was the cat for my wife, and from that point we bonded and she became our Schmoopy...

When she was old enough we brought her home, but being in a new environment I warned my wife that she might hide under the couch until she felt comfortable. I reclined on the couch and to my surprise she did one circle around the living room and came and layed on my chest and went to sleep. This beautiful multi color playful kitten felt right at home, and immediately we fell so in love with her that life just would not seem normal without her.

Surprisingly at only a year old she became pregnant, and with such a large litter we were concerned. In the end she had six beautiful kittens, one that looked just like her and one that looked like a feral cat in the neighborhood that had been frequenting out back garden, one that we later adopted and named Tiggy Daddy, a loving and beautiful story in itself, but also sad as we lost him this past year.
