He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy Game Lee; Son - Craig Lee and wife, Sandy Lee of San Antonio, Texas, Son - William Joseph Lee of Dallas, Texas and three Grandchildren, Morgan, Jake and Connor Lee of San Antonio, Texas; Sister, Sara Pat McCullough and husband, Wayne of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Sister, Kathy Hodge and husband, Jerry of Selma, and Brother, Danny Joe Lee and wife, Carla of Stantonsburg, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In 1977, he was working with Rockwell International, Raleigh, when he was offered a position with Joy Petroleum in Houston. He accepted and began a journey never imagined. He held numerous positions over the next 25 years, working his way up from Projects Manager to Operations Manager of a multi-million dollar company. While working and living in Texas, Mr. Lee was afforded the opportunity to travel and enjoyed experiencing the various cities and countries nationally and worldwide. Mr. Lee retired from Aker-Kvaerner, Houston, Texas in 2003, where he held several positions over the years.

After his retirement and return to North Carolina, Mr. Lee enjoyed tending the land, fishing and camping and golf. He was most happy when he was busy, and found part time employment as a driver for the Deacon Jones dealerships in Smithfield and Goldsboro. He loved driving the newest makes and models of vehicles as he delivered cars up and down the east coast.

Nelson was a member of the Gideons International, serving as President of the Johnston South Camp. He derived great pleasure and satisfaction in sharing the Word of God with young and old. He was a member of Progressive Presbyterian Church, Princeton, where he served as an Elder and teacher.

He loved living in the country and he enjoyed the change of pace from the hectic life in Texas. He leaves behind many friends through the country who loved and respected the man he was.
