Sarah Woodman Parsons Hewett. Born August 30, 1815 South Paris, Oxford Co., ME Died 1874 South Paris, Oxford Co., ME

While they were both born in Maine, Thomas and Sarah Hewett moved to Miami MO and raised a family. Children: Sarah Elizabeth Hewett; Waterman Thomas Hewett; Harvey Sewall Hewett and Flora Hewett.

Sarah's brother, I.S. Parsons had also made his way to Miami, where he became a farmer of substantial influence.

At the time of her death, Sarah Hewitt had returned to Maine and had been keeping house for her elderly father. They died in the same year; it is not clear if she died before him.

It is possible she may have been buried in Maine. No grave marker for her, or for her mother, who died two years earlier, has been found. Waterman Hewitt has a substantial, although deteriorated, grave marker in Missouri. There is no obvious indication that her body was brought there.
