Pat Sanders, age 86, peacefully went to Heaven on Saturday, January 27, 2018 after a valiant battle with Alzheimer's disease. Pat was born in Houston, TX on November 29, 1931 to Ben and Beulah Shindler. Patsy grew up in the East Texas oilfield camps and towns and attended Longview High School. On June 3, 1952, she married Harold August (Gus) Sanders, Jr. She spent her entire life living in Texas and Oklahoma focusing on raising her children and upon Gus's retirement moved back to the Tyler area. Pat was a long-time active member in Council Road Baptist Church in Bethany, OK and later in Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Beulah Shindler; brother-in-law, Donald Bullock and sister-in-law, Betty Lois Robuck. She is survived by her loving family including husband Gus (Tyler); son, Scott Sanders and daughter-in-law, Ann Sanders (Marble Falls, TX); and daughter, Laura Copeland (Euless, TX). Grandchildren include Ben Sanders (Austin, TX) and Jesse Copeland (Dallas, TX). She is also survived by her devoted sister, Shirley Bullock (Tyler).

The family wishes to also acknowledge the loving care provided by Carla Hardaway, Johnnie Wilson and Heart to Heart Hospice.

Burial will take place at Cathedral in the Pines in Tyler, TX at a later date under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to support the research for a cure to Alzheimer's disease.
