Ms. Edna Gambrel, 83, of Bimble, passed away Saturday morning, February 3, 2018 at the Hillcrest Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corbin. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Amanda Goodin born on October 1, 1934 at Bimble.

Edna was a former Cincinnati Bell employee and a member of the Springfield Baptist Church. She enjoyed caring for her brothers and sisters and farming.

In 1955, she united in marriage with Dwain Gambrel Sr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son; four sisters, June Hensley, Edith Gambrel, Ruby Wilburn and Margaret Payne and four brothers, Arthur, Joe, George and Virgil Goodin.

Survivors include her son, Dwain Gambrel Jr. and wife, Karen, of Bimble; a host of nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, February 6 at 12 noon with Rev. Mike Helton officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Goodin Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be her nephews.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.

Expressions of sympathy may go to the Springfield Baptist Church, P.O. Box 100, Bimble, KY 40915 in her memory.
