Mr. Nightingale died Saturday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 25, 1908 in Lawrence.
He retired as bridge foreman in 1973 after 40 years with Douglas County roas and bridge department.
Survivors include his wife, Edna, of the home; a son, Richard Jr., Lawrence; a daughter, Helen Perkins, Lawrence; two sisters, Juanita Davis, Grants Pass, Ore., and Agnes Seely, Leavenworth;
10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
