SHREVEPORT. LA - A memorial service for Mrs. W. T. (Mahala H.) Brownlow will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, September 25, 1991 at the Couch Memorial Chapel of the First United Methodist Church of Shreveport with the Rev. W. D. Bodle and Rev. R. O. Shoulders officiating. Mrs. Brownlow died Monday, September 23, 1991 after a brief illness. She was a native of Crockett, Texas and moved to Shreveport in the early years. Mrs. Brownlow was a member of the Methodist church and did volunteer work for the Shreveport Association for the Blind and the Unique Shoppe of the Goodwill Industries for many years. She was also a long time member of the North Highlands Book Circle. Mrs. Brownlow was affectionately known to her friends as "Brownie" and gave of herself freely to them during her long life. She continued giving In death by donating her body to science. She is survived by two great nephews, Travis Brownlow of Houston, Texas, and Jack Hamilton of Fort Worth, Texas.
