She was born September 1, 1914 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Irene Romney and George Franklin Coulam, Sr. She married Arthur Dellas Meeks May 17, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She attended Stewart School and graduated from East High School, attended University of Utah and graduated from LDS Business College. She enjoyed many church callings including Stake Sunday School Board, and Teacher in several capacities. She grew up in Salt Lake, lived in Denver, Colorado for four years and Dallas, Texas for thirteen years, spending the remainder of her life in Salt Lake.Ruth is survived by her loving husband Arthur Dellas Meeks; her two children, Arthur G. Meeks, Denver, CO, and Marilyn Irene Meeks, Salt Lake City, UT; her sister, Marjorie (Taylor) Cannon, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, George Franklin Coulam, Jr.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 17, 1997 at the Butler 8th Ward Chapel, 2700 East Fort Union Blvd (7000 South). Friends may call Tues. from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, and Wednesday at the church prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
