Mrs. Sarah Nathlyn Fesperman Fisher, 84, of Salisbury passed away on Monday June 6, 2016, at The Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks Rehabilitation Center. She was born on March 12, 1932, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Herman Ray "Dick" and Hallie Brown Fesperman. A 1950 graduate of Granite Quarry High School, Nathlyn attended Appalachian State University. A member of St. James Lutheran Church, Nathlyn was active in WELCA for many years where she was a member of the Bereavement Committee. She was a devoted wife and caregiver to her husband and a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Nathlyn loved to cook for her family and spend time with friends and family. In addition to her parents, Nathlyn was preceded in death by her sister Sylvia Poole.; Nathlyn is survived by her husband of over 63 years, John Linn "Kinard" Fisher whom she married on Aug. 17, 1952; children, Kevin Fisher and wife Tammy of Salisbury, Nina Bell and husband Burt of Statesville, Dane Fisher and wife Lynn of Cornelius and Loren Fisher and wife Kristin of Cary; grandchildren, Megan Smith, Bethany Clifton, Madison Bell, Nathan and Alex Fisher, Joshua and Jacob Fisher and Gregori Fisher; great-grandchildren, Brooklinn and Warren Smith and Everlyn Fisher. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 9, from 12:30 to 2 p.m., at the St. James Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. At other times the family will be at the home of Kevin and Tammy Fisher. Service: The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 9, at 2 p.m., at St. James Lutheran Church, Rockwell NC, conducted by Rev. Jason Huebner, Pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials in memory of Nathlyn may be made to St. James Lutheran Church Memorial Fund PO Box 486, Rockwell NC 28138.
