Clara was born August 8, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Gennaro Robert
Avella and Anna DiLullo Avella.
Clara was a loving, devoted wife and an amazing mother to her children and
grandchildren.
Clara surrounded herself with love, laughter and good food.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, hearty laugh and her ability to fill
us with her incredible Italian meals.
In addition to her loved ones, Clara's heart was filled with her Catholic faith
and the desire to help others.
Her calling as a registered nurse speaks to that love and desire to care for
others.
Clara is survived by her family; husband, Michael Alton Walter of Charlotte;
children, Kimberley Hotchner (James) of Huntersville, Jessica Arnott (David)
of San Jose, CA, Ann Newman (James) of Charlotte, Kristin Tart (Daniel) of
Charlotte, Brian Walter (Tracey) of Concord, and Kathleen Walter of
Charlotte; grandchildren, Jonathan, Jeremy, Julia, Natalie, Dominic, Salem,
Jimmy, Emalyn, Abby, Chase, Briggs, Brendan and Justin; brothers, Edward
Avella, and Rev. Robert Avella; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Michael
Walter.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 6:00-9:00 pm
at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC, with a Christian wake at
8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, November 20, 2017 at St.
James the Greater Catholic Church, 139 Manor Ave. SW, Concord, NC.
Burial will follow at Northlake Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions
