JANE BRINTON COX
September 9, 1922 - January 30, 2018

Mom has gone on her final shopping trip to Brooks and the Wight House! After 95 years of always keeping her hands busy, Jane Brinton Cox has moved on to her new service project.

She was born at Fiddler's Green in Sanpete County on September 9, 1922, to Wollerton Huffaker Brinton and Jane Hamilton Brinton. Who had time to have a baby during harvest season? She grew up on a farm and always loved the rural life, and was proud of her Sanpete roots.

She graduated from Snow College, where she met her eternal companion, Edward Dyreng Cox. They were married December 8, 1943 in the Manti Temple, while Ed was on leave from the Marine Corps. He preceded her in death in 2008. She followed him across the U.S. until he left to prepare for the invasion of Japan. They were the parents of three daughters: Susan (Barry) Mortenson, Patty (Terry) Jones and Janyce (Lo) Nestman.

Ed and Jane were 62 year residents of Bountiful. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and endured faithfully to the end. She also enjoyed serving in community activities, Bountiful Literary Guild and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She loved gardening flowers and vegetables.

Jane was the youngest of four children. Her siblings, Reed W. Brinton, Margaret Bench and Beth Allred all preceded her in death.

She is survived by her three daughters; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and her in-laws: James H. Crane, Douglas D. and Evelyn Cox.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Bountiful LDS Dry Creek Ward Chapel, 720 E. 550 N. Friends may visit with the family Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM, at the Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E., and 12:30-1:30 PM Friday prior to the service.

The burial will be Saturday, February 3, at 2:00 PM in the Manti Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the LDS Church Humanitarian Services.

The family expresses gratitude to Jonathan and Aspire Hospice as well as Legacy House of Bountiful, and her many friends and neighbors who have been so good to her.
