DUNCAN, Sheila Gay, age 62, of Middletown, Ohio passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at Southview Medical Center in Centerville, where she had been a patient for 7 days. She was born January 29, 1956 in Hamilton, Ohio and lived in the Miami Valley Area all her life. She graduated from Madison High School Class of 1974. Sheila was a member of the Crestview Church of God in Germantown. She was a Sunday School teacher. She served as a school teacher for HTR Christian School, and had authored a children's book, "Abby's Summer Vacation". Preceding her in death were her parents, Rev. Lawrence and Opal (Shepherd) Flannery, Jr.; her first husband, Charles Robert Barrett, Jr. in 1983; one son, Matthew Paul Barrett; and one brother, Robert L. Flannery. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Arnold F. Duncan, Sr.; three children, Stephanie V. (Scott L.) Baker, Arnold F. (Kayla) Duncan, Jr., and Charles R. (Ileen) Barrett, III; ten grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two brothers, William C. (Linda) Flannery and Richard P. (Theresa) Flannery; one sister, Brenda S. (Lester) Thomas; sister-in-law, Charlotte Flannery, daughter-in-law, Carrie Duncan; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Crestview Church of God, 8350 S. Butter St., Germantown, Ohio 45327. Services will be Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor James Simpkins officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio. Memorial contributions in Sheila's name may be made to her church, Crestview Church of God. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
