Vernon A. Hoffman, age 94, a resident of Winfield, IL and formerly of Elgin, IL died Tuesday, January 30, 2018. He was born on April 30, 1923 in Elgin, IL to Elmer and Ollie Hoffman.

Vernon graduated from Elgin High School and served in World War II with the Amphibious Engineers in the Pacific. He worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for various organizations including Elmhurst Chicago Stone, Wheaton Academy and Continental Baking.

He was an active member of One Church Wheaton and later at First Baptist Church in Winfield.

He is survived by his wife Rowena Hoffman, two sons, David (Renee) Hoffman of Mattson, Dan (Debbie) Hoffman of Carol Stream, two daughters, Marji Robinson of Summers, AR, Beth Hoffman of Winfield, six grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and his sister, Marilyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 27W010 Parkway Dr., in Winfield, IL. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.
