She was a former student of the University of Louisville, loved shopping, cooking and especially taking care of her boys. She was a very friendly lady with a very outgoing personality which shined with her love of organizing family gatherings. She was the daughter of Jaron S. Teague & Rachel Smith-Calvillo. She leaves two direct descendants, sons, Milo and Silas Helton. She had made a profession of faith in Christ several years ago and was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Taylor County, KY. Her final resting place will be in the church cemetery.

Jalisa Shanee Lavee Smith, 29 years, 11 months and 13 days of age, of Louisville, KY, died Thursday, January 25, 2018, in Louisville.

Funeral services for Jalisa Smith will be conducted at 12pmCT/1pmET, Tuesday, January 30, at Pleasant Union Baptist Church, 426 Fallen Timber Road, Campbellsville, KY, with Rev. Michael Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with bearers being, Junior Smith, Miguel Sanchez, Adrian Turner, Damon Forcelledo, Daniel Arellana and Cameron Turner. The family requests visitation on 10am-12pmCT/11am-1pmET, Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 11 prior to the funeral at the church.

Jalisa was born on February 12, 1988 in Louisville the daughter of Jaron S. Teague and Rachel Smith-Calvillo, both of Louisville, KY. She died Thursday, January 25, 2018, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 29 years, 11 months, and 18 days.

She was a former student of the University of Louisville, loved shopping, cooking and especially taking care of her boys. She was a very friendly lady with a very outgoing personality which shined with her love of organizing family gatherings. She had made a profession of faith in Christ several years ago and was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she is survived by:

•Two sons: Milo Helton and Silas Helton, Louisville, KY

•Her grandmothers: Barbara Turner and Helen Boyd, Louisville, KY

•Step-father: Miguel Sanchez, Louisville, KY

•Her aunts: Yolanda Garay, Louisville, Jarella Blake, Texas; and Cathy Estes, Greenville

•An uncle Junior Smith: Louisville, KY

•Great-aunt: Evelyn Turner and great-uncles, George Turner and Robert Turner

•And several cousins.
