Elaine Faye Todd Walker

Roy/Hooper - Elaine Walker progressed on to paradise on January 25, 2018 after 87 years of serving others. Elaine was born at the family home in Hooper on September 13, 1930, the youngest child of George and Kathren Todd. She attended Hooper Elementary School and graduated from Weber High School Class of 1948. While working at Woolworth’s she met Wayne W Walker. They were married on July 28, 1950 in the Logan LDS Temple. She later worked as a tax examiner at IRS, retiring after 24 years.

Active in the LDS church her entire life, she served in many callings including president of the Young Women and Relief Society organizations. Elaine was famous for her fun at Girl’s Camp and Road Shows. She served a mission with her husband in the Canada, Montreal Mission. Later she was an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple. Service and devotion to her Savior and her fellowmen were the hallmarks of her life.
She enjoyed decorating cakes, especially for weddings and family birthdays, and directing stage productions. She served on the Weber High Class of ’48 reunion committee and knew the name and location of each of the members of her class. She and Wayne enjoyed their Thursdays at Hooper Senior Citizens and volunteered there for many years She enjoyed going on cruises especially when the girls and their husbands came along. Winning the marriage game on the ship made her an onboard celebrity.

Elaine is the proud mother of four daughters: Linda Lee (Chuck) Smith, Sandra Kaye (Bart) Spencer, Paula Rae (Dennis) Miller, and Tami Faye (Gary) Hendricks. They have 20 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 67 1/2 years, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and her longtime friend, Anna Beth Summers.

She was welcomed on the other side of the veil by her parents, siblings, parents-in-law, son-in-law, Dirk Maw and great-grandchild Ari Hendricks.

We wish to thank AFI Hospice, especially Rhonda, Stephanie and Jennifer for their compassionate care, Dr. Tricia Ferrin and staff, and the members of the Roy 26th Ward for adopting “Grandma Walker” as one of their own.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 1, at 11:00 a.m. at the Roy 26th Ward, 3649 W. 4800 S. Roy, UT. The Family will greet friends on Wednesday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the ward chapel.

Interment will be in the Hooper City Cemetery.
