Her paternal grandparents were Jacob House (1834-?) and Harriet Vaughn House (1843-?) of Alabama.
Her maternal grandparents were William T. Pate Sr. (1846-1922) and Rebecca Ann Sykes Pate (1862-1952) of Alabama.
