Peggy Burrell Reid died on November 26, 2006 at the age of 87. She was born in Indianapolis on August 12, 1919 to Arthur and Marguerite Bennett Burrell.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert T. Reid, to whom she was married for 54 years, and five children: Monica (Chuck) Zontanos, Sally (Mark) Dinwiddie, Cindy (Roger) Jean, Terry Reid, Gifford (Vicki) Reid. Her brother, Reily (Joan) Burrell, also survives her. She was blessed with a wonderful group of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a graduate of Shortridge High School where she was crowned "Blue Bell" of her junior class. She then attended Indiana University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She was a volunteer for the Children's Museum Guild, the Salvation Army Guild and spent timeless hours volunteering for the 500 Festival, eventually becoming a Director of that organization in 1968. She was an avid golfer in her early years as a member of the Country Club of Indianapolis and later as a member of Meridian Hills C.C. She also loved bridge, watching sports, reading and knitting. She spent the last thirty years as a resident of Wilderness Country Club in Naples, Florida.

Services were entrusted to Leppert Mortuary of Indianapolis, Indiana.
