"Pioneer W.W. Adams Died Here Friday.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the First
Baptist Church for W.W. Adams, 80, who passed away Friday night in the Benson hospital. Graveside services and burial followed in the Texas Canyon Cemetery.

Mr. Adams was born October 5, 1878, in Waco, Texas. He settled with his parents in Texas Canyon in 1896, then returned to Texas. In 1904 he married his childhood sweetheart, Miss Orphy Berton, and they returned to Texas Canyon where they have resided ever since. Mr. and Mrs. Adams celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 5, 1954.

Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Adams and two have preceded him in death, Ethel in 1911 and Willard in 1957.

Survivors include his wife, Orphy, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. May Clark of Tucson; two sons, Walter of Tracy, Calif., and Wallace of Texas; and one brother, Pearl Adams of California."
