Mr. Robert Lewis Oakes, age 74 of Conyers, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Lucille Oakes. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Oakes; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Deborah Oakes; granddaughters, Alexandra and Sydney Oakes; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Joseph Aycox; sister-in-law, Georgena Shaw; best friend, Joe Rosipal; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Oakes was a youth football coach and enjoyed football and baseball. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. He was a member of the Toastmasters, the Optimist Club and owner of Padgett Business Services of Conyers where he was an accountant and had been doing income taxes since 1964. Robert was saved and will be missed. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Pastor Timothy Neal officiating; interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge. Family will receive friends Friday, January 26, 2018 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12 until 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
