Nedra Lorraine Dodge Green peaceably passed away on January 19, 2018 due to complications from a recent hospitalization and returned home to her Heavenly Father, joining loved ones who went before her.

She was born on July 30, 1934 in Ogden, Utah to Isabelle Minnie Batchelor and William Lester Dodge. She was the oldest of three children. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1952.

Mom met the love of her life, Gene Rulon Green while working at the naval base in Clearfield, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints February 18, 1954. They made their home in Kaysville, Utah from 1954 until 1996 when they moved to Taylor, Weber County, Utah. They were blessed with three children, Kip, Cary and Jayne. They enjoyed raising and racing quarter horses together. They were always side-by-side at all quarter horse events and she always joined him in the chariot or winner’s circle as her health would allow. She was determined to participate and enjoy life even through challenging health issues.

She worked at Hill Air Force Base until retiring in 1976. She sold Avon for many years, mostly because she liked visiting with everyone. She loved serving at church, in the Primary, Sunday School, Young Women’s and the Relief Society. She loved books, reading daily and watching her grand and great-grandchildren. She would finish a book in one day and read them over and over again. Her favorite holiday was Christmas because she thoroughly enjoyed watching all the children open the presents.

Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Gene and youngest daughter Jayne. Also preceding her return to Heaven were her brother, Steven Dodge, and granddaughter Dakota Searle.

She is survived by her sister Sheila Helm, daughter Kip Searle (Rex) of Plain City, her son, Cary (Charla) of Fruit Heights. She leaves behind eight grandchildren, Ferrin (Monica) Jenkins, Sage (Heather) Searle, Brian (Alicia) Green, Eric (Kate) Green, Kyle (Hannah) Green, and Tyler Green, Shyla Searle, Mariah Searle and eight great-grandchildren Anthony Jenkins, Emmy Searle, Jackson Searle, Braxten Rallison, Bosten Rallison, Wes Green, Lincoln Green and Eleanor Green.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
