Melvin C. Braunschweig, age 93, of Watertown, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Marquardt Health Center.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at noon at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon with Rev. David Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Lebanon. Visitation will be at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, would be appreciated to the church, Marquardt Health Center or to the charity of one’s choice. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family.
Melvin Conrad Braunschweig was born on June 2, 1923 in Lebanon, the son of Reinhard and Clara (nee Last) Braunschweig. On May 18, 1946, he married Edna Adele Borth at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. Edna preceded him in death on December 1, 2012. Melvin had farmed in the Lebanon area. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon.
Melvin is survived by his four children, Larry (Mary) Braunschweig of Watertown; James Braunschweig of Eau Claire; Sue (Keith) Fuchs of Neenah; Randall (Kelly) Braunschweig of Watertown; eight grandchildren, Dan (Erica) Braunschweig; Ali Braunschweig; Dane (Malorie) Fuchs; Bryce Fuchs; Stephanie Braunschweig; Katie Behl; Melanie (Ryan) Wilder; Angela (Ray) Crandall; five great-grandchildren: Gavin, Aria, Lennon, Brecken and Brode; sister-in-law, Alice Lange of Watertown along with other relatives and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his parents and brother, Norman Braunschweig.
