Graveside services for David Cathey age 57 of Livingston will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 26, 2018 at Holly Springs Cemetery with Rev. Mark Fulks officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. Mr. Cathey passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at St. Lukes Hospital in Lufkin. He was born October 7, 1960 in Sidney, NE to John Denman Cathey I and Marjorie Ann Thomas Cathey. Mr. Cathey was a correctional officer for more than 25 years in Livingston. Mr. Cathey was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Katherine Cathey and a brother James Cathey. He is survived by his wife Bonita Gail Durr Jacobs of Livingston, a daughter Farrah Johnson and husband Phillip, two grandchildren Gwyneth Johnson and Sterling Johnson, sisters Cindy Hickman and husband Gary, and Suzann Vaughn and husband Greg, brothers, Tom Cathey and wife Kimberly, and John Cathey II and wife Sharron and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
