John Perrelli "Perri", Sr, was the son of Ralph Perrelli "Perri" and Josephine Ruccia. He was the husband of Anna Jean Blevins.
He died in Yale New Haven Hospital, Sunday, September 9, 2012, John Perri, 86, of Westbrook, formerly of Guilford, with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Jean Perri. Loving father of Nancy Perri, Paula Perri, Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Petr, John Perri Jr and Francesca Perri. Survived by five grandchildren, John, Corey, Daniel, Angela and Annajean. Also survived by a brother, Frank Perri and sister, Nancy Coppola. Predeceased by his daughter Annajean Perri, brother, Anthony Perri and sister, Carol DeMusis.
John owned and operated R. Perri and Sons with his two brothers as vice president, they specialized in Italian sausage. Later he worked for Century 21 as a real estate broker. He joined the Navy and served in WWII. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 2 in Hamden, CT. He was also the past president of the Guilford Lions Club and a member of the Shoreline Italian American Club and a volunteer for CT Hospice for thirteen years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford, Thursday, September 13 at 10 am. Burial will follow Mass in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Friends may call Wednesday, September 12 from 4 to 8pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Perri’s name may be made to a Charity of one’s choice.
