1970 obituary. SOUTH PORTLAND - Guy Bowen Farnham, 73, of 27 Arlington St., a retired rate clerk, died Monday in a Portland hospital after a long illness. He was born Jan. 28, 1897 in Bangor, a of Orrin and Edith Bowen Farnham. Mr. Farnham was a sergeant in the Army during World War I. He was a rate clerk at Hunnewell Trucking Co., retiring in 1962. He was a member of Hiram Lodge, AF & AM; Hiram Chapter; a past chancellor of Bayard Lodge, Knights of Pythias, South Portland; and the Stroudwater Baptist Church where he was a former deacon. His wife, the former Beulah Gray, died in 1963. He is Survived by two sons, Robert Farnham of Portland, and Donald E. Farnham of South Portland; a sister, Mrs. Rebecca Picard of Montpelier, Vt.; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road. Interment will be in Brooklawn Memorial Park.
