June 15, 1930 - January 13, 2018 LaVern Rose Bicknell Mays, 87, of Richmond, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington.
She was born in Richmond, KY on June 15, 1930 to the late Reed and Clella Kindred Bicknell. She was a self employed beautician for over 40 years, and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include: her son, Johnny Mays; two sisters, Janis Day (Robert) and Bessie Boots Reed (Gene); four grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Stanley Mays and one son, James Russell Mays.
Memorial Services will be conducted at 4PM Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.
