RUSSELL H. HEMPHILL, 78, of 1102 Security Road, died Tuesday at Washington County Hospital. Born in Fairplay, he was a son of Clinton D. and Florence Bowers Hemphill.
He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and Antietam Fire Co. He had worked for Marquette Cement Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1965.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Fouke Hempbill, a son, Conrad W. Hemphill, Silver Spring; a sister, Mrs. Adaline Gossard, Milwaukee, Wis.; and four grandsons.
Services were held at the Minnich Funeral Home. Burial in Rest Haven Cemetery.

She is survived by one son, Conrad W. Hemphill, Silver spring; sister, Dora Faulke, Hagerstown; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
